All in all, this game is very well made, and it feels like the best game available in the open-world survival genre. Ark Survival Evolved is an action and survival game with singleplayer and multiplayer options.

Start on an Ark, an island inhabited by wild dinosaurs of all levels and types. Besides dinosaurs, humans have basic needs that have to be met, such as health, stamina, oxygen, hunger, and thirst. Craft a variety of goods, using a range of resources found on the island. Collect resources and start developing a homestead as a base of operations. Move along in the tech tree and eventually craft guns and energy weapons, as opposed to simply throwing spears.

To survive on Ark you need to tame dinosaurs through active or passive means. Passive taming involves moving towards the target and then giving it some food; active taming involves knocking out a dinosaur then giving it food. Dinosaurs can be used as pack animals, to attack other peoples bases, and to defend your home base. How to domesticate a dinosaur? It's easy: attack it and leave it unconscious to then look after it during its recovery period. It will become your loyal companion that will take you wherever you want and defend you against the many lurking dangers.

You can tame it, train it and even ride it. This game is going to make Bear Grylls' Man vs Wild look like child's play. Here you'll have to fight against the lack of food and water, the temperature and even the pass of time. Make sure you eat well to survive and not become weak , and that includes human flesh on the menu.

The level above vegetables and prime meat is kibble obtained by using such ingredients like berries, eggs, fiber and certain meat. Passive taming requires a different set of skills. It involves sneaking behind a creature and then following and feeding it once a prompt pops up.

Once again you can use berries, meat, kibble and even rotten meat for taming creatures to add to your dinosaur army. Depending on the creature and the type of food you use, passive taming takes from a few minutes to a couple of hours.

For example, Dodo eggs are the main ingredient for kibble for mesopepithecus and Ichthys.

Hey guys. They've also provided steps on how people can host without picking up a separate copy of the game, we've yet to confirm but here are their steps:. I'm having the same issue, I have 2 accounts, trying to run Ark from my PC via the account that was hosting my dedicated server from my xbox one and I can bring up the dedicated server, but the option to join the server is greyed out and myself or anyone else is unable to join.

Also I'm trying to figure out if i need to start the game from my xbox app, my start menu, or what at this point. My server is hosted on XBox and I'm trying to access it on PC, but it does not appear in the server list. Is there something different that needs to be done? The question is, do you need a nitrando pc server to host. Or can you have a separate xbox account host a server from windows 10 pc through the xbox app and connect to it from another xbox account on the xbox?

So, my Ark server shows that it is up looking at it from my PC, however it is not listed under Unofficial PC sessions and like I said, still can't join from friends list, am I missing something? So excited for this! Once I have a sever up and running, if anyone wants to join just shoot me a message and I'll keep ya in mind!
